2. Medical disclaimer (please read)

The content on Pet Wiki is for educational and informational purposes only. It is not veterinary advice, does not constitute a veterinarian-client-patient relationship, and is not a substitute for an in-person examination by a licensed veterinarian.

If your pet is sick, injured, or behaving abnormally, see a licensed veterinarian as soon as possible. Many conditions we describe — bloat in dogs, lily toxicity in cats, parasitic infections, dystocia, urinary blockage — can kill within hours. Online reading is no substitute for hands-on care.

Do not delay seeking professional care because of something you read on this site, or because of something you did not read in time. The article you skip may be the one that mattered.

3. Editorial standards

Every guide on Pet Wiki is written by a credentialed specialist (DVM, MSc, DACVD, CBCC-KA, or equivalent) with at least 8 years of practice in the subject area. Every guide is reviewed before publication by a separate editor. We do not publish content written by anonymous contributors, content spun by AI, or content sponsored by brands. 4. No warranty

The content is provided "as is" and "as available." While we work hard to keep it accurate and current, we do not warrant that any specific recommendation is correct for your specific animal. Animals vary. Conditions present differently. What worked for one dog may not work for another. Use the content as a starting point for a conversation with your vet, not as a substitute.

5. Affiliate disclosure

Some links in our guides go to products we use. When you buy through them, we may earn a small commission. We never accept paid placements, and our editorial recommendations are independent of affiliate relationships. Every affiliate link is tagged rel="sponsored noopener" and is disclosed at the top of any article that contains one.

Currently, Pet Wiki content is editor-produced only. If we accept user submissions in the future, contributors retain copyright to their submissions and grant Pet Wiki a non-exclusive license to publish. We will not edit submissions in a way that changes their meaning without the author's consent.

Pet Wiki is for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. See our Privacy Policy.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pet Wiki and its authors are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site, including but not limited to damages resulting from a pet's illness, injury, or death that you attribute (correctly or incorrectly) to information on this site.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced with a homepage banner for 30 days. Continued use of the site after that period constitutes acceptance.
